RR Foundation Gala Dinner - VIP Guests

The event on Saturday 18th February 2023 at the Durban ICC promises to be one of celebration with

an exciting programme for its invited guests.

The keynote speaker for the evening is Gcina Mhlophe, who is an award winning South African author, poet, playwright, director, performer and storyteller. Her written and performance talent has transported her from South Africa to South and North America to Europe, Greenland and Japan.

Mhlope‘s passion for storytelling well echoes the RR Foundation’s emphasis on education which is one of its pillars as well as the various storytelling projects currently underway.

Providing the entertainment for the evening is Mi Casa who are a South African success story. Mi Casa has performed in sold out concerts around the world: from Nigeria and Angola, to London, Italy and Canada. They had the great honour of performing for President Barak Obama at his inauguration, and have shared the stage with grammy award-winning Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The trio are: ‘Dr Duda’ who produces all the songs for the band, ‘J’Something’ who leads with his vocals and is a song writer, and Mo-T whose trumpet adds the distinctive jazz element.  Their varied talents and musical backgrounds create a blend of jazz, dance music, and R&B. Master of Ceremonies for the evening is 

Mrs Karabo Mohale, Deputy Executive Chair -The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).

The RR Foundation will be celebrating its successes over the last year and will also take the opportunity to present its very exciting flagship projects.
