Protecting Africa's wildlife requires more than passion. It requires dedicated people on the front line, equipped with the training, technology and resources needed to safeguard some of the world's most treasured natural environments. This August, one local conservation supporter is taking on an extraordinary physical challenge to help make that possible.
Terry has signed up for Run For Rangers, a demanding 100-kilometre run over two days through the spectacular Babanango Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal. Taking place on 1 and 2 August, the event raises funds for Project Rhino, with every donation going directly towards supporting the Rangers who work tirelessly to protect South Africa's wildlife.
The challenge is about far more than endurance. It is an opportunity to turn a love for Africa's wild spaces into meaningful action, while raising awareness of the vital role Rangers play in conservation.
From preventing wildlife crime to monitoring protected areas and safeguarding endangered species, Rangers dedicate their lives to preserving South Africa's natural heritage. Their work is often carried out in difficult and dangerous conditions, making community support essential to ensuring they have the resources they need.
For Terry, completing 100 kilometres across challenging terrain will require determination, resilience and plenty of perseverance. While the physical demands are significant, the motivation behind every kilometre is clear: supporting the men and women who stand on the front lines of wildlife conservation every day.
The event also serves as a reminder that conservation is a shared responsibility. Whether through fundraising, volunteering or simply spreading awareness, every contribution helps strengthen efforts to protect Africa's biodiversity for future generations.
Supporters are encouraged to get behind Terry's fundraising campaign and help make every kilometre count. Every Rand donated contributes towards providing Rangers with the equipment, training and technology they need to continue protecting South Africa's iconic wildlife and wilderness areas.
By supporting initiatives such as Run For Rangers, individuals and businesses alike become part of a collective effort to preserve Africa's extraordinary natural heritage, ensuring that future generations can continue to experience the beauty, diversity and wonder of its wild places.
