This year’s Standard Bank KZN Top Business Awards gala dinner will now take place on Wednesday 17 July 2024.

 

The date for this important event has been changed to avoid any distraction or competition with the national elections and the outcomes that may arise during the weeks to follow.

 

The annual awards recognise those businesses, organisations and individuals who are excelling in their respective industries and endeavours in KZN. As such, this annual event is an opportunity to showcase your successes to the KwaZulu-Natal business community and beyond.

Who Can Enter?

The Standard Bank KwaZulu-Natal Top Business Awards are open to companies or organisations that have an office in KZN. The first two categories are specific to Standard Bank clients; however, all other categories are open to clients of any bank. There is no cost to enter.

 

Entry Criteria

You must be able to show that your company contributes to the KZN economy and has a proactive business model that adheres to the principles of King IV achieving the four governance outcomes of:

ethical culture, good performance and value creation, adequate and effective control, and trust, good reputation, and legitimacy. You will be required to provide evidence of success for the category entered.

The 2024 categories will recognise businesses in the following areas:

1.      Standard Bank Client of the Year – SME Category: - Less than R100 million turn over per annum, entrants must bank with Standard Bank

2.      Standard Bank Client of the Year – Larger Enterprise: - More than R100 million turn over per annum, entrants must bank with Standard Bank

3.      Manufacturing Sector

4.      Transport/Logistics Sector

5.      Franchising Sector

6.      Family-Owned/Managed Businesses

7.      Agricultural and Agro-Processing Sector

8.      Business, Financial and Educational Sector

9.      Community Upliftment and Improvement  

10.   Renewable Efficiency – Green initiatives

11.   Employee Wellness

12.   Partnership – The winning project will reflect the importance of teamwork and effective inter-agency collaboration.

 

KZN Top Brand

The much-coveted top homegrown brand in KwaZulu-Natal is awarded based only on the results of a public SMS poll. To vote SMS the letters and the name of your top brand to 45633 (a cost of R1.50 per SMS applies). No formal entry submission is required.

 

Voting in this category is open and will close on 30 June.

 

Business Leader of the Year

The Standard Bank KZN Top Business Leader’s award is an honorary award given to a businessperson who has demonstrated exemplary business achievement, industry influence and is a true inspiration to others.
