Founder and Owner Funky Pants Tracy Harker says that Funky Pants was not a planned venture, but that she was inspired by her husband to start the business. Funky Pants started nearly 14 years ago when Tracy Harker was organising an Ocean Surf ski Paddling Series in South Africa. Tracy was unhappy with the paddle shorts available, because of the uncomfortable fit. The result of the redesign was a pair of comfy, fully lined mid-thigh length, paddling tights.
After a few years, Tracy decided to test the market with some patterned shorts which were a huge success. Tracy’s husband, Billy Harker, took one look at them and exclaimed, Tracy’s Funky Pants! The colourful Funky Pants were the first to market internationally and are now available for many different activities.
Tracy and Billy have created an international brand that reflects their sporting lifestyle filled with lots of memories and being happy as a family.
