The recipient of the award for KDM "Best Community Activist in Community Development" goes to John Chandler... the retired and longest serving Managing Director of Hesto Harnesses.
John is currently an entrepreneur and MD of Lean Systems and Projects, a company still involved in community development.
The award recognises his commitment in creating strategies to ensure the new Ford Ranger harness factory was set up within our shores, and in particular in the KwaDukuza area.
The result of his collaborative work with many stakeholders has seen over 8000 direct jobs created in KwaDukuza, and many more indirect.
