Qatar Airways Announces Increase in Flights on the Durban Route

Qatar Airways has announced that it will be increasing frequencies to 7 weekly flights on the
Durban Route, effective 01 March 2026, reflecting the airline’s strong confidence in the
market. This decision comes on the back of an overall 11.6% yearonyear growth in December
passenger numbers at King Shaka International Airport, underscoring KwaZulu-Natal’s strong
demand for international and domestic air connectivity.
The Durban–Maputo–Doha flight is scheduled to increase to 7 weekly flights, effective March
1, 2026.
These developments strengthen KwaZulu-Natal’s position to propel South Africa’s tourism
and business while offering passengers more flexibility in global travel.
