The Entrepreneur 2023 entries are now open

Don’t miss the opportunity to take your business to new heights! The Entrepreneur 2023 entries are now open.


To enter the programme, candidates need to complete the entry form that can be downloaded from The Entrepreneur website (http://www.theentrepreneur.net.za). Entry forms can also be collected from the iLembe Chamber offices, the offices of Enterprise iLembe and iLembe District Municipality or any one of the iLembe District municipalities’ offices: KwaDukuza Municipality, Maphumulo Municipality Ndwedwe Local Municipality, and Mandeni Local Municipality.


The Entrepreneur is an University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Graduate School of Business and Leadership accredited business accelerator programme presented in collaboration with Airports Company South Africa, Enterprise iLembe, ENGIE Peakers Operations, Siza Water and The North Coast Courier.


The application form must be completed and submitted before 14 July 2023.

Late or incomplete applications will automatically be disqualified.


All applications received will be reviewed against the selection criteria. Interviews may be conducted to select the finalists that will participate in The Entrepreneur 2023 competition and programme.


Selected business owners are required to participate in a 10-week entrepreneurial development programme endorsed by the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and USA-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which include tuition and mentorship.


The programme will commence on 29 July 2023 and will run until October 2023. Competition winners will be judged on the perceived potential of their businesses, programme participation and attendance, as well as the content of the business plan submitted.


Finalists that complete the programme will be offered the opportunity to showcase their business at The Entrepreneur 2023 Exhibition where the winners of the competition will be announced.


Prize money will take the form of business development funding that will be disbursed in line with the submitted business plans after being approved by the finalist’s assigned mentor.
