Just weeks after its Skyfall Restaurant and Wine Cellar earned a place among South Africa’s Top 100 most loved restaurants in the Dineplan Reviewers' Choice Awards, Brahman Hills has two more reasons to celebrate.

The popular Midlands destination secured two first-place wins in the 2026 Best of PMB & Midlands Readers' Choice Awards. Part of the established Best of South Africa Readers' Choice Awards programme, the competition recognises local businesses that have earned a special place in their communities.

Brahman Hills claimed top honours in both the Best Holiday Accommodation and Best Weekend Escape (within 150km) categories, and there's another cause for celebration too. This is the second year the establishment has been voted Best Weekend Escape (within 150km), having won the same category in the inaugural 2025 awards.

What makes the latest results particularly heartwarming is that they reflect local support. Members of the public both nominate and vote for their favourite businesses across a wide range of categories, from restaurants and shopping to accommodation, leisure and wellness.

“An honour like this coming from our own community is incredibly humbling,” says Onwaba Gonyora, Director at Brahman Hills. “The Midlands has so many wonderful places to visit and stay, so to know that people have chosen us across these different categories means a great deal. We’re especially thrilled to have retained our Best Weekend Escape title for a second year.”

A common thread runs through these latest successes: recognition from the people who have enjoyed what Brahman Hills has to offer. With Dineplan's awards based on verified diner reviews and the Best of PMB & Midlands winners chosen through public votes, the accolades are a particularly rewarding endorsement of the destination's appeal.

Set within the picturesque Blue Crane Nature Reserve near Nottingham Road, Brahman Hills offers everything from romantic escapes in five-star luxury to leisurely dining, relaxing countryside breaks and indulgent spa experiences. And with its ambitious 22-hectare Serenity Garden nearing completion, the destination is set to enhance the guest experience even further, bringing its vision of a Sanctuary of Serenity, Wellness and Excellence to life.

The latest wins add to an impressive collection of local and international accolades spanning sustainability, hospitality and garden excellence. But for Gonyora, the significance of these honours goes far beyond the recognition itself.

“Behind every guest experience is a team of people who put an enormous amount of attention and effort into what they do,” she says. “These awards are a wonderful acknowledgement of their dedication, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who voted for us. More importantly, they give us even more motivation to keep finding thoughtful new ways to make every visit memorable.”
