Visitors to KwaZulu-Natal’s super-regional mall, Gateway Theatre of Shopping, currently get two hours of free parking while exploring the extensive tenant mix.
With strict Covid-19 protocols in place, Gateway is fully operational. “We have found ways to adapt, like most businesses,” says Feysel Potgieter, Gateway Theatre of Shopping General Manager.
“Health and safety is our number one priority,” says Potgieter. “We are constantly fine-tuning our operations to create a safe environment, for people coming to work at Gateway, or buy essentials, or to enjoy a more relaxed outing. ”
“In addition to numerous hand sanitisers situated around the mall and supporting the wearing of masks, further measures are in place,” he says.
These include:
· Touch free parking access, as well as a Tap & Go facility – which was installed in 2020.
· Frequent and intense cleaning of specific touchpoints such as surfaces, doors, escalators and lifts.
· The number of tables in the food court remains reduced to encourage social distancing.
· Social Distance markers are placed at important queuing areas around the mall.
Tenants are also supporting the fight against Covid-19 through their own workplace plans and protocols, with many tenants now offering online shopping with delivery, click and collect as well as call and collect.
